We are changing our domain name! www internet browser showing a communication concept

Over the next week we will be changing our primary domain to a simpler, shorter name and we wanted to let you know…

We're moving domains

On 9 July 2012, Dynamic Consultants will be changing their domain name from:

www.dynco.uk to our new website url: www.dynco.uk (pronounced “din-coe”)

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions to help you understand the
process.

What exactly is happening?

We are transferring our existing website from our current domain name: www.dynco.uk over to our new one which is www.dynco.uk. This will include all email addresses, website urls and anything that uses our current domain name.

Why are you doing this?

We feel that it is important to make things as simple as possible. Having a nice short domain name does just that. www.dynco.uk (pronounced “din-coe”) is easy to remember and there is minimal chance of spelling it incorrectly.

When are you planning to do this?

We have already started the process; our site has already been transferred. Nothing has changed on our website as we want to keep the transition as simple as possible and avoid confusion. We will permanently redirect all traffic from our old site and email addresses assigned to our current domain name on 9 July 2012.

Will this affect me?

You don't have to do anything. All traffic to our old website will be redirected seamlessly to our new domain name. You will, however, see our new website url in the browser address bar during your visit. Additionally you will see a message informing you of the change. With regards to emailing us, all email addresses will be seamlessly forwarded to the new address for that respective mailbox. When that email is replied to by a member of staff here, it will be from the new address.

Does this change affect such things as Google rankings etc?

We will place something known as a 301 Permanent Redirect which tells all the search engines, including Google, that we have moved our website permanently. This means that should you visit a specific page on our website, it will redirect you to the exact same page on the new website.

Can I change my domain name?

Yes you can, however we strongly recommend analysing whether it is necessary to do so first. Ask yourself whether having a new domain name is what you really need - or whether it is simply because you fancy a change. There should be a solid reason to change. If you are unsure, please feel free to give us a call. We will always give you sound advice and if we think it might not be in your best interests we will let you know.
